Solar Panel Photography

Solar Panel at School Photography

An interesting photo shoot of installed solar panels at a local school.  This was all about angles. There are 2 parts to this solar system, with the gigantic battery stored securely behind fencing.

When hired to take one photo the task is to capture every angle in a beautifully balanced image.  To get the one shot our client needed we shot for an hour and from every angle. That’s the goal – seek out every good shot, shoot it all and let the client choose “the one”. As with all architecture there is a beauty to the structure, lines converging, verticals and horizontal.  It’s a fun shoot using only the basics: the camera and your eye.

Staff group photos
are a great way to warm up your website by letting visitors become familiar with your staff even before visiting your storefront or facility. If you are online exclusively staff photos give visitors a face behind a company name and create a connection. Photo Editing and Ad Layouts

Lipstaick Ad Layout
Single business owners wear multiple hats. Recognizing the value of professional product photography is the beginning for many. Single product images are great for e-commerce catalogs. When your website or print ads need that wow factor or layout for your advertising campaign message we can help.

We offer editing and layouts. Working with images from inception we excel at bringing balance within a frame, whether it is framing with a camera lens or editing your photo to keep the focus on your product or services. We can combine multiple images, add backgrounds, extract products for stunning layouts.

Cosmetic Photo layout
These cosmetics were all shot for the product description e-commerce. This layout showcases the branding suitable to stand alone on a website or can be extended to add a marketing message.

Captioned Product on White
This captioned image served the seller to get more detail visually onto Amazon’s platform.

When refreshing your branding you may be juggling web designers, print ads, new logo, painters, vehicles painted and more. In this case the photo session was ahead of the logo painter for the building.  We were able to work from the logo Illustrator files to add to the photo and maintain realism and save time for the client.

Pet Carrier Product Photography

Pet Carrier Product Photography

Our model was cooperative – AND cute!  The pine-cone was his choice-seems it’s a favorite.  For these pet carrier product lifestyle shots we used existing light, Canon Speedlites, the Canon 6D with ND filters with a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L lens.

Lifestyle Photography

Lifestyle photography is helpful with products like carriers to show consumers the product “in action” and also to bring a human feel to the website.

Pet Product Photography

We also shot the full line of pet carriers products.  These carriers are collapsible, with multiple handles, straps, openings. We shot 5-6 angles of each carrier on white background.

Corporate Headshot

Executive Headshot

Shot in-studio this headshot represents the executive as approachable–as a manager of a thousand people it’s an important reflection.  This was shot with continuous light using a style developed for film stars decades ago called “Paramount Lighting”.  It’s also called “Butterfly Lighting” because of the shape of the shadow under the nose.  It’s a flattering lighting style.

Headshots are a marketing tool for professional from all industries.

Corprate Headshot

What separates a headshot is the intimacy of the subject with the camera/photographer.  While a portrait may be full length, 3/4 length or chest high, a headshot is about the face.  Lighting is the key. The above was shot with Paul C Buff Einstein and Beauty Dish.  The light wraps around the face creating subtle shadows.  For the subject of a headshot – the facial expression is critical.  Talk with your photographer before the session to capture the expression you are looking to convey to your viewers.

Executive Lifestyle Portrait

This dental practice wanted their website to reflect the fun spirit of the dentists and the staff.  We put a different spin on the lifestyle portraits of the team groups. This turned out beautifully with composition and balance and the doctor’s smile lights up the photo.

Website photos can go beyond the somber to this fun shoot. It captures the fun spirit of this staff portrait.  (We took serious shots, too – but these won out!)

Group Staff Photography

Large Group Staff Photography

A large staff group shot needs a bit of pre-planning. This session greatly benefited from color coordinated clothing. Body language is a subtle way to bring the comfortable warmth of a large group and takes patience to arrange.

Lighting for a large group gives depth.  We used 64″ Paul C Buff PLM umbrellas – one on each side.

Rooftop Photography

Warehouse Rooftop Photograhy

Nothing like being alone on a rooftop shoot, especially when the client is asking for a few creative shots.

Los Angeles Rooftop Skyline

The client hoped to have the Los Angeles skyline as a background to the rooftop system they had installed on this industrial building.  In these two shots the skyline seems close, despite how far away it was.  The 70-200 mm Canon lens is a long lens which compresses the background-bringing it closer in the images.
