Slider Layouts

Slider Layouts and Editing
Our client was multi-tasking. Just as he realized he had the product photography images in multiple angles covered, he realized he needed the “pretty” images for his website. Sliders are a popular advertising element on websites currently. To stay ahead of competitors go beyond using image only sliders. We create display ad layouts and created these for specific dimensions saving additional time and expense for our client.

Photo Editing and Ad Layouts

Lipstaick Ad Layout
Single business owners wear multiple hats. Recognizing the value of professional product photography is the beginning for many. Single product images are great for e-commerce catalogs. When your website or print ads need that wow factor or layout for your advertising campaign message we can help.

We offer editing and layouts. Working with images from inception we excel at bringing balance within a frame, whether it is framing with a camera lens or editing your photo to keep the focus on your product or services. We can combine multiple images, add backgrounds, extract products for stunning layouts.

Cosmetic Photo layout
These cosmetics were all shot for the product description e-commerce. This layout showcases the branding suitable to stand alone on a website or can be extended to add a marketing message.

Captioned Product on White
This captioned image served the seller to get more detail visually onto Amazon’s platform.

When refreshing your branding you may be juggling web designers, print ads, new logo, painters, vehicles painted and more. In this case the photo session was ahead of the logo painter for the building.  We were able to work from the logo Illustrator files to add to the photo and maintain realism and save time for the client.

Elderly Portrait

Elderly Woman Portrait
This stunningly beautiful 90 year old was a vision for the camera lens. Using existing lighting created an intimate quiet portrait.

With all the gadgets and photo editing techniques available it is important to know what to use for your subject. If using lighting keep it diffused for a soft look.  Unless using a light modifier a flash will give a harshness emphasizing age lines to the point of distraction. The lovely softness in our lady’s face is due in part to those very fine line which are welcome. Part of her beauty is how comfortable she is with herself.

Another choice is converting to black and white, partially because the older generation grew up with non-color photos. Consider delivering both color and black and white to your client.

Cosmetic Product Photography

What began as 35 cosmetic products turned into a full line of 360 products for a full e-commerce website.  Using continuous lighting many shots needed stack focusing to provide crystal clear focus from front to back.  We used a Canon 100mm 2.8 macro L lens no more than 1 foot from the product and set the aperture at f8.

To create the shine on the brushes, lipsticks and other reflective products we used a variety of light modifiers (scrims) to create each gradient.

Color matching is always critical for e-commerce and requires special 2 fold attention – lighting the color consistently, then visually matching the product to the screen in post.  Though all monitors use RGB, not all monitors will display color the same. Things like graphics card, monitor drivers affect the actual display of color on every device. Despite knowing this shooting the products under strict lighting and visually color matching they will be consistent and you’ll minimize product return headaches when color is part of the buying decision.

Pet Carrier Product Photography

Pet Carrier Product Photography

Our model was cooperative – AND cute!  The pine-cone was his choice-seems it’s a favorite.  For these pet carrier product lifestyle shots we used existing light, Canon Speedlites, the Canon 6D with ND filters with a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L lens.

Lifestyle Photography

Lifestyle photography is helpful with products like carriers to show consumers the product “in action” and also to bring a human feel to the website.

Pet Product Photography

We also shot the full line of pet carriers products.  These carriers are collapsible, with multiple handles, straps, openings. We shot 5-6 angles of each carrier on white background.

Wedding Engagement Photography

Wedding Engagement Photography

Such a fun wedding engagement session.  This couple arrived in character and costume, which set a wonderful tone for the entire evening. From inside an old warehouse to the streets of Redlands, we had a wealth of of backdrops to utilize.

Engagement Bride to Be and her Ringg

Sunlight was spilling into this second floor warehouse as we were shooting the engagement ring.  We chose to work the sunlight and later desaturate for the quiet moment we had in mind.

Engagment Shadow Dancing and Polka Dots

This converted warehouse features a dance floor, ideal for our engagement couple with a passion for ballroom dancing.  The shadows were created by Canon Speedlite flashes.

Reflection in a Window for Engagement Photography

Looking into the window of an antique shop selling mirrors was ideal for the period costumes! The trick was not to be seen taking the photo.  Again we used a single Speedlite handheld off to one side.  What a perfect mood.

Engagement Feather Hat

We had more fun including this feather clip-on/hat!  This sunset shot looks like a happy ending. We look forward to the wedding!

Family Location Portrait

This family was fun to work with. They were up for a multitude of poses. We shot until…no one had an idea left!  The laughter and happiness made this session bubble over!  Talk about a great afternoon in the park.  We used one handheld flash for precision lighting, plus a general flash for fill. A simple set-up with bountiful results.

Family Studio Portrait on White Background

Young Family Portrait

A white background gives a contemporary setting for this young family.  Once again, the Paul Buff PLM umbrellas let us flood the set with brilliant light, focused where the photographer wanted.  And the expression of the front row girl?  Did someone mention:  ice-cream?  You have to speak their language!  It was fun!

Family Studio Portrait

Studio Portrait

Three generations of a loving, happy family.  They wanted a formal look, as well as casual later in the session).  The grey background was the standout color for the session.  Using Paul C Buff PLM umbrellas and Einstein Studio Flashes for a full light spread.

Location Headshot

This fun shoot was on campus and the trees made for stunning bokeh. Cropping was the key to the final image to bring the eyes up close and invitingly friendly.  Shot using flash and a soft box to focus light where the photographer wanted it.
